• Since its inception, 710 participants in 6 batches have undergone the NIRMAN training program. These youth are from 34 districts out of total 36 in the state of Maharashtra.
  • Education wise, there is a mix of doctors, engineers, lawyers, journalists, filmmakers, teachers, farmers, science-arts-commerce graduates, etc.
  • The male/female gender ratio is 60:40
  • NIRMAN encourages and facilitates the participants to work on social issues by taking up one of these five options: be a social entrepreneur and start one’s own venture, work with different non-profit organizations with an explicit social mission, join the government system and serve the people, avail various fellowships to work on specified social projects or work in the private sector and contribute part time for a social cause.
  • As a result of the concrete guidance regarding these practical possibilities, around 130 NIRMAN youth are now working full time on specific social challenges in different parts of Maharashtra, Chattisgadh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Their work domains include healthcare, education, environment, rural development, livelihoods, effective governance, etc. These young motivated people exhibit the spirit of NIRMAN in their life choices and professional actions, daily! Every year, more participants join this league and their collective reach, variety and depth is increasing.
